THE ANNUAL APPEAL FOR RETIRED PRIESTS OF THE ARCHDIOCESE WILL BE HELD DURING SEPTEMBER There is an increasing need for support for our retired priests. There are many priests who have served the people of Sydney for 40 to 50 years that are now approaching retirement. Due to this looming “bulge” in the number of retired priests, there is an urgent need for to build up the recently established Priests' Retirement Foundation. The Foundation provides for the accomodation and health care of retired priests. Their living expenses are covered by the contributions made to the Sunday 1 st Collection.

There are now 64 retired priests in Sydney . Soon there will be significantly more. Your generosity will allow our priests to retire with dignity and security, and be provided with health care, accommodation and the support they deserve . The Second Annual Appeal for the Retired and Sick Priests Foundation is now being held in all parish es. Contributions are 100% tax deductible. Brochures and envelopes are available on the tables near the church doors.

CHURCH CLEANING: Every Saturday morning one of the teams of the Altar Society assists with the cleaning of the altar area. For many years Tony Livolsi has cleaned the main area of the church.
